In love with the nautical theme? You’re in for a treat! It’s time to head to the coast for a coastal themed wedding in Ocean City.
Christina and Brandon first met in Ocean City when their parents bought condo’s right next to each other. Spending each summer together, their friendship soon grew into love and Brandon proposed to Christina on a private beach on Memorial Day! Their wedding took place at Lighthouse Sound Golf Course in Ocean City, the setting couldn’t be any more perfect. It turned out to be one of the rainiest days of the year!
Thank you to Stacey of StaceyLee Photography for sharing this beautiful wedding with us. We hope you enjoy! I’m now off to the beach 😉
Your love story
Christina: “Brandon and I met when my parents bought a new summer home next door to where his parents’ summer home is located. We actually met on the balcony where we each drank our coffee and could have small talk as neighbors. We knew each other for about a year before we had our official first date. After the first date, our summer romance took off and we were inseparable. That May, Brandon took me by surprise with an amazing and incredibly romantic proposal. Our families were meeting for dinner one night. We stopped at a beach near the restaurant where Brandon imported 10,000 rose petals that led a long path to get to the center of a heart on the beach. He hired a musician (Blake Haley) to play our special song, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking out Loud” as he asked me for my hand in marriage. Both of our families were there to witness the proposal, as well as our photographer Stacey Prosper to capture all of the excitement!”
What did you both wear?
“Brandon wore an ocean blue suit by Joseph A. Banks and I wore a gown by Madison James.”
What venue did you choose?
“We chose to have the ceremony and reception at Links at Lighthouse Sound. Golf has played a big part in Brandon’s life. The venue also overlooks the city line where our love story began and where we spend our summer vacations growing up.”
Was the day how you imagined?
“The day turned out to be quite different than what we had planned. We were able to control every single detail of the wedding, but not the weather! It poured and then it poured some more! We ended up having everything in the same place instead of an outside ceremony and cocktail hour, but we had some fun playing in the rain and got some pretty amazing rain photos!”
What advice would you give to other couples?
“Our advice to other couples is to enjoy every second of your time together. It all becomes a whirlwind and passes by so quickly. Go with the flow when things go differently than expected. Don’t waste any time getting upset, laugh at each other and have fun no matter what goes wrong! It makes for better stories!”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“We chose to visit the islands of Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora. We wanted to go somewhere that we most likely wouldn’t go back to, due to the very long plane ride. We had also dreamed of staying in the overwater bungalows, where we woke up every morning looking at the most beautiful water in the world.”
