We took a few moments with Terence Filipe O’Neill, the events manager at The Petersham in Richmond to learn more about this beautiful venue!
What do you do and why do you love it?
It might sound a little clichéd but I absolutely love getting to know our couples here at The Petersham. Being a (small) part of that special day is always a pleasure and something I will never get bored of – the satisfaction of making each and every wedding completely unique is enormous.
Tell us about the venue? What makes it unique and stand out from the crowd?
The Petersham is an intimate venue which in a way makes it pretty unique, as most venues now days are vast and can cater for hundreds. The Petersham is perfect for a small gathering of your closest friends and family and I love the fact that the wedding breakfast is served on one table so you can all share the day together.
Apart from the intimacy, it has to be the fabulous view from the hotel. Overlooking the River Thames and Petersham Meadows. The famous view is protected by a rare act of Parliament so it means we will be enjoying the view for hundreds of years to come!
How long has the venue been hosting weddings? When did you start at the venue?
Matchmaking has been happening at The Petersham since 1865, when the grand Victorian building was completed as a hotel!
I have been at The Petersham for just over 3 years.
What is the venues greatest achievement to date?
We have recently reinvented our unique Cellars into an area perfect for the ultimate evening reception. This unique space plays host to our club DJ where you can dance the night away with friends and family.
