We absolutely love a Hindu wedding! It’s full of vibrant colours, traditions and this one features a stunning backdrop. The beautiful wedding of Geeta and Adarsh will be a treat for your eyes. The wedding took place in June 2016 at Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Colorado. Third Eye Photography captured the wedding and very kindly shared the images with us.
Rebecca from Third Eye Photography said, “Geeta and Adarsh’s first date was in Chicago on a Friday night and they hit it off immediately! Over a late night slice of chocolate pie, Adarsh asked Geeta for a second date… for the next night! She said yes and never looked back.
As time passed, the couple fell in love. The engagement proposal was a big surprise to Geeta! Adarsh fooled Geeta into thinking she was going to a baby shower for his cousin, but instead, he ended up taking her to a private rooftop and proposing on one knee against the Chicago skyline. Adarsh then took Geeta to a fun Italian restaurant where all of their siblings were waiting to surprise her and join in the celebrations.
Colorado was selected as the location for the wedding because Geeta and her family have spent every summer in Gunnison and Crested Butte since she was a young girl. It is a very special place that reminds Geeta of her father Satish and holds many wonderful memories. Adarsh, with his love of the outdoors and adventurous spirit, fell in love with CB as well.
They wanted to have a traditional Hindu religious ceremony, but against the backdrop of the mountains and nature. This was such a special event in their and their families’ lives, which they wanted to be in nature’s true scenery.
Arranging a multi-day Hindu wedding event was definitely an adventure and was a full family affair that they could not have accomplished without their family’s love and personal attention. Geeta’s mom handmade desserts and snacks for each wedding event and created paintings to place as decor at each party. Adarsh’s parents spent time coordinating with the priest and shipping all the detailed items they would need to prepare a proper Hindu ceremony.
Both of their mothers provided personal recipes to the chefs at the Club at CB and Crested Butte Mountain Resort to help create the unique Indian flavors and dishes for the various events. Their parents have always said “we want you to be happy” and showed this when they went above and beyond arranging the Indian Hindu traditions within the mountains of Crested Butte.”
