Sun? Tick! Beautiful decor? Tick! This wedding in the fall of 2016 ticks all the boxes. Lauren and Mike tied the knot in the New York countryside at Gratitude and Grace. We love the unique DIY features throughout the decor. It adds a lovely personal touch! The day was captured by the wonderful team at Thompson Photography Group, thanks for sharing it with us!
From the bride Lauren, “We knew that we wanted to have a laid back wedding where we could enjoy celebrating with our friends and family and we certainly found that with our venue. We were inspired by the setting to highlight the beauty of the 1870’s barn and outdoor landscape by creating simple and beautiful details, while also providing a touch of elegance to the New York countryside.
We found many of the decor pieces at local antique stores for DIY projects. We created the chalkboard signs and seating chart out of old frames. We added a touch of glam with gold accents, string lights and lots of greenery. We wanted to provide a balance of vintage with the picture frames, old glass bottles and wood accents with the more modern details of chalkboards, metallics, and greenery.
I gathered most of my inspiration from bits and pieces of other weddings and of course Pinterest. The florist did an amazing job with the beautiful garland, home-grown flowers and sage and rosemary accents and my talented sister made the cake. We had a ball enjoying the beautiful day nestled in the hills of the Finger Lakes and danced the night away under the gorgeous chandelier. We could not have asked for a more perfect day!”
