Situated only 30 minutes from central London, the property boasts views over stunning landscaped grounds with the River Thames and Chiltern Hills beyond. It was the venue of choice for Amal and George Clooney’s post wedding celebrations.
I was delighted to pop along to this grand house last month with my colleague Kathryn Pike from The Foxy Deer luxury lifestyle blog covering the Thames, Chilterns & Riverside for a day of spa, weddings and tea! I know this house very well as when it was launched as a hotel 25 years ago I went to the opening! I have been a frequent visitor since and was delighted to spend a day there relaxing and watching the team set up for a wedding they had that day, these are insights we rarely get!
This hotel can cater for intimate affairs to large and lavish; stunning architecture and grounds provide the perfect backdrop for your special day. There are four licensed ceremony suites to accommodate all tastes and numbers of guests. The experienced and professional team pride themselves on being flexible and open to all requests. The House can be hired exclusively and a marquee erected on the grounds for larger weddings.
I will let Kathryn talk about time in the spa on TFD which was totally amazing! Being busy ladies we rarely get time out so to relax in the spa and have a treatment was so wonderful. Our day finished with an afternoon tea on the terrace which Kathryn will expand on, suffice it to say we were thoroughly spoilt and I had to take a few delights home with me.
We had some time between spa and tea to spend with Hannah the Wedding Co-Ordinator here at Danesfield. This lovely lady took time out of her busy day to walk us around the House and look at the stunning rooms, wedding areas and bedrooms.
No two bedrooms at Danesfield House are the same; all 79 are individually designed including the new recently-refurbished 16 rooms and suites. The suites are so beautiful! Exquisite fabrics and furnishings!
Kathryn and I were delighted to witness a wedding taking place whilst we were there, to see the wedding party outside enjoying cocktails prior to their beautiful dining was so special. We both sat in the sunshine (enjoying our tea) discussing how relaxed this venue is, despite its grandeur. We took a walk down through the gardens and sat watching the Thames – not a bad way to spend a Friday afternoon! Whatever your budget may be, if your heart is set on this venue which is a celebrity favourite, the team will do their best to host your big day. It really is a very special place indeed.
