Prohibition Era Styled Wedding

Take a step back in time with this themed wedding shoot by Details Wedding Planning and LunahZon Photography. Full of rich colors and a glamorous look, this style suits the venue perfectly. This style would suit any inner-city or suburban venue! Enjoy!

From the photographer, LunahZon Photography, “Charlotte has become a home for some amazing craft breweries. The great thing about these breweries isn’t just the surplus of creative and delicious beer choices, but the interesting, intimate, and original event spaces that go along with the taprooms. The amazing brick, copper, and wood tones of Sugar Creek Brewery inspired this prohibition era themed shoot. Black, copper, and pops of teal form the color palette that embrace this slightly darker event space that lends itself to the shoot’s speakeasy vibe.

The bride is outfitted in a stunning, form fitting Kenneth Winston with sequin detail and an amazing low back. The dainty pearl accent that lines the neckline and straps gives the dress a vintage feel. Complementing the look, earrings and a headpiece from Aubrey’s Corner integrate intricate metal design and pearls that mirror the dress. The bride’s ring from Skatells Jewelers is a solitary diamond with metalwork that compliments the other jewelry and accessories. The model’s smokey makeup by Anne-Marie Mitchell Makeup Artistry and perfectly stylized 1920s side-swept updo by Mandi English at Bentala Salon complete the look. The groom is outfitted in a charcoal three piece suit from Abbeydale with a subtle, burgundy tie and matches the deep tones of the florals. To tie the groom’s classic look into the theme, we incorporated a 1920s style cap, and a darker metal ring with a patterned inlay from Skatell’s Jewelers.

The head tablescape is set up with beaded chargers, ivory china, and copper flatware over a black linen with teal napkins. The colors pull from and blend with the copper brewery tanks and venue accents. The table is completed by a beautiful, richly colored, low sitting floral centerpiece from PA Reavis Designs. The same deeply colored florals are echoed in the bride’s bouquet, groom’s boutonniere, and as a decor accent for the cake table. The cake itself is a work of art from Sky’s the Limit Bridal Sweets. It integrates prohibition era piping detail in copper that sits over an oxidized copper colored smooth finish. The detail is unquestionably beautiful.

And finally, attention and guest enjoyment are paid to the beer, whiskey, and cigar table. Sure to provide a fun and different setup for guests, this table is designed to specifically pay homage to the speakeasy theme. Using a galvanized tub filled with booze, options for whiskey, and a traditional cigar arrangement with humidor, this table pops with a teal linen and playful signage.”
