Italy is a sensual destination that’s perfect for honeymooners. They can experience this passion in the cuisine, fashion, design and overall lifestyle – the Italians are among the best at slowing down and savouring life.

The country offers remarkable diversity as well, but no matter where honeymooners venture, they will enjoy historic charm combined with modern conveniences for today’s travellers. It’s no wonder we see Italy continue to entice newlyweds, especially considering it is home to some of the most stunning, romantic and renowned places in the world: the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, Venice and the newly discovered Puglia.

Couples looking for less-visited destinations can discover Italy’s beauty in quieter settings which allow for a more personal experience. Those include everything from boutique hotels in Lake Como to resorts in Sardinia to getaways in the Dolomite Mountains. With so many wonderful options, newlyweds will likely choose a few places so they can experience more of this eternally beloved country.

Honeymooner’s with a love for all things gourmet should look no further than Tasmania. An often overlooked corner of The Antipodes, Tasmania is a treasure trove of foodie delights and rich cultural heritage. Due to its varied landscapes and rich coastlines, the island of Tasmania is abundant with natural produce and incredible seafood.

Take a trip to Bruny Island where you’ll explore sweeping coastlines and bays and learn to harvest oysters straight from the seabed. You’ll be staying at the beautiful Saffire Freycinet lodge – a hidden luxury retreat on the Freycinet peninsula on Tasmania’s beautiful east coast.

The peninsula is characterised by sheltered white sand beaches, dramatic wilderness and those breath-taking vistas of Wineglass Bay. Towering walls of pink and grey granite, patched in orange lichen, soar dramatically out of the water, whilst timid wildlife and beautiful orchids grace the lush green forests of this national park. This region is also a gourmands paradise, and visitors can feast on local oysters, mussels, olives, cool climate wines and the creamiest ice cream that’s produced in the region.
