With more and more couples opting to go abroad for their wedding, we see so many gorgeous weddings from quaint little castles to awe-inspiring coastal backdrops. The wedding of Sarah and Liam is without a doubt, absolutely stunning! Full of beautiful summer styling, a modern look and of course love an happiness.
Plus, it’s always nice to receive a wedding submission from local couples (the original printed magazine first became available in Berkhamsted, just a short drive from the Ultimate Wedding office)! We hope you enjoy this lovely wedding!
From the bride, Sarah: “We met on Christmas Eve 2013 at The Kings Arms in Berkhamsted. I was dancing with my friends and went to the toilet but as I closed the door to go in, I trapped my finger in the door and fainted on the dance floor. Liam saw this and helped me up and got me a drink… well the rest is history
Liam moved into my flat after 3 months and we got engaged in Florida on April 24th 2016. The engagement wasn’t conventionally romantic… we were in our apartment in Orlando and I had just come out of the bathroom (jeans still unbuttoned!) and there he was in the middle of the living room with this gorgeous ring on one knee! He said he wanted to catch me off guard and he certainly did!
We went to a lovely posh restaurant that night to celebrate. We have been to over 15 destinations since we have been together as we both share a love our travelling. We knew that we wanted a wedding abroad and we both love French wine and cheese and so our search was narrowed to France immediately.
After a few Google searches, we came across Marry Me In France and we just fell in love with Chateau Soulac! We booked it without even seeing it as we were so certain it was the one. We flew out a couple of months after booking it and it was even better than we expected! For the styling of the wedding, I knew I wanted lemon to be the main colour and for the theme of travel to be part of our day. Everything from the flowers, to my bridesmaids’ dresses were lemon coloured and the theme of travel was present throughout the day.
Our wedding planner Louise was incredible and she knew all the best suppliers and we couldn’t be happier with how well everything looked on the day. We had no issues at all planning our wedding in France because Marry Me In France and Louise our planner was amazing and so professional. I wouldn’t hesitate at all to recommend them both. We had a magical five days in the Chateau, including a pre-wedding BBQ on the Friday night and everything went so well. It really was the best weekend of our lives!”
