We have a lovely summer wedding in Høvikodden, Norway to share with you today. Mari and Tarjei’s ceremony took place at the very quaint Haslum Kirke followed by a reception at Båtsportens Hus. We are in love with the minimalist style and DIY decorations dotted throughout. Those images with the backdrop of the Oslofjord are utterly stunning! Enjoy!
From the photographer, Ingvild Kolnes: “Being able to capture both the engagement shoot and the wedding for a couple is one of my favourite things! It allows me to get to know the couple before the big day so that I can capture the photos that represent them so well.
During the ceremony, right as Mari was about to walk up to the altar (yes, the most important part of the ceremony), the power went out. It got turned extremely dark, and for two seconds panic struck as I was trying to change the settings on my camera to realise there was barely enough light to focus. Right after they were seated the power turned back on, but the musicians (Mari’s uncle and cousin) were not able to get all their equipment to work, so they played an acoustic version of Bob Dylan’s “Make you feel my love” and it was magical.
The dinner was exceptional, and there were great toasts and music throughout the night. Despite the little hiccups at during the ceremony, the night was absolutely perfect. It also started pouring as the night went on, and as we went outside to capture some late-night portraits the rain was coming down pretty heavy as well. But – it actually just made the photos more special.”
