Kate & William

One of the most cherished moment's of our lives. A enchanted fairy tale moment we will never forget.

Your love story

William and I met when we were children and had always been friends from a very young age. But as time went on and we grew up they saw each other in a different light and all of a sudden fell in love.

William proposed to me on my 30th birthday. He took me to an old vintage style bandstand in the middle of a floral park, got down on one knee and popped the question. To which I said, "about time".

What did you both wear?

William wore a navy tailored suit with a grey tweed waistcoat, burgundy tie and pocket hankie and brown shoes, all to go with our autumnal themed wedding.

I wore a beautiful Maggie Sottero, mermaid style designer wedding dress. It was ivory with beautifully detailed beading and pearls. It was originally strap less but we added these beautiful 1920 beaded style straps to really finish it off.

Then a similar style beaded tiara and veil pinned in at the back under my bun. Ava (our daughter) wore a beautiful ivory flower girl dress with a burgundy sash tied round the waist. With lace ivory gloves and a fluffy white shawl with a mini burgundy bouquet.

What venue did you choose?

Our wedding ceremony was at St. Josephs Church in Chalfont st. Peter. We chose a church wedding as we are Catholic, and we chose this particular church as we have a lot of sentimental attachment to it.

William's Aunt and Uncle were married there, and then their son and daughter went to the Catholic school attached to it. I was the 4th generation of my family to get married in this church.

Our reception was at the Tudor Barn in Burnham. This was the perfect venue for us as we wanted an autumnal themed wedding at the end of October.

The grounds and the barn itself are beautiful. And the staff are amazing, we felt like we were part of a family sharing a really special moment, rather than people we were hiring a venue from.

Was the day how you imagined?

The day was even more wonderful and memorable than we ever could imagine. The venue looked stunning with all our decorations.

We had trees with lights and light's hanging from the ceiling. It was truly magical and something out of an enchanted fairy tale. The staff there were so fantastic, everything went absolutely perfect.

The only thing I would have done differently was to have planned my back up guests better. As we had some people who couldn't come last minute and when we asked our back up guests to come, they were also unable to come until the evening, so we had some empty seats. Otherwise, it couldn't have gone better.

What advice would you give to other couples?

Don't stress. Even if you plan your wedding in a short time, just don't stress. Ask anyone and everyone to help, the more help you get the quicker it will get done. Don't be afraid to delegate jobs to friends and family.

And above all enjoy your day and spend time with friends and family members you want to most. Other brides I know really regret not having a dance with their friends or more time with family on the day as they are too busy playing host.

This is one regret I do not have, I spent all my time with the people I wanted to most and got lots of dancing in too.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We will be going to St. Lucia as my father has a property out there.
